🕸️ i think i caught the superpower bug—or maybe the writer’s bug
learning writing techniques from watching Robert Kirkman’s Invincible
WHAT HAVE I DONE?....thats the title for season 3 episode 7 of INVINCIBLE....clickbait not intended...i guess it is
finished watching the episode. what a ride. what a show! the story is amazing!
Lately, I’ve been thinking and writing about my first novel. I feel like this right here—will be part of my notes of motivation and discipline as aspiring writer.
Since i got the bug, there are moments when I can just tell, this is a good writer. Then I see the end credit…written by,—Robert Kirkman—no wonder, haha.
But what really gets me excited is noticing the conflict he builds. It’s massive.
A superhero, carrying the guilt of all the disasters happening to his planet, thinking it’s all their fault—even when most of it is out of their control.
What’s brilliant is how Mark Grayson, aka INVINCIBLE, externalizes that guilt. It’s not just in what he says—it’s in what he does. It’s subtle, and I love that. The way the burden intensifies, slowly weighing down on him, makes it all the more powerful for a protagonist to carry.
I feel like the story reflects something deeper, something rooted in humanity’s own choices.
